FIWARE is a community that promotes the adoption of open standards and open source technologies where cities own their data. Open technology bricks (open API, open standards) allow cities to create a customized solution while benefiting from economies of scale and feedback from the entire network.

Today, FIWARE represents more than 390 members (including 215 companies and 8000 developers working and improving the technology on a daily basis) in 45 countries and more than 150 cities use FIWARE (Saint-Quentin, Amiens, Nice, Aix-Marseille)

FIWARE creates this interoperability layer allowing cities or municipalities to have an evolving tool to customize their solutions.
