EGM Advocates a Standards-Based Approach at the ETSI AI & Data Conference 2026
From February 9 to 11, 2026, EGM participated in the ETSI AI & Data Conference, a leading European event dedicated to the convergence of artificial intelligence, data management, and standardization.
Over three days, industry experts, researchers, and decision-makers explored a key question:
How can we move from AI promises to truly deployable, interoperable, and industrialized solutions?
Through two consecutive presentations, EGM defended a clear conviction:
model performance alone is not enough.
Without structured, standardized, and well-governed data, AI remains limited to demonstration.
An AI Agent Capable of Exploring an NGSI-LD Graph
During the first session, Adam Lewis (EGM) introduced a concrete use case: an AI agent capable of exploring and reasoning over an NGSI-LD compliant data graph.
Rather than simply generating text-based answers, this agent:
-
Dynamically analyzes the graph structure
-
Identifies relevant entities
-
Automatically chains multiple NGSI-LD API calls
-
Combines results to produce actionable responses
This approach demonstrates that AI becomes truly operational when it relies on structured, queryable, and standardized data.
By leveraging the ETSI NGSI-LD standard, interoperability between systems is ensured, enabling consistent data exchange and seamless integration across multiple sources.
ETSI Standards as a Strategic Lever for Reliable AI
On the following day, Franck Le Gall, CEO of EGM, expanded the discussion by addressing the structural challenges linked to AI industrialization.
Key topics included:
-
Interoperability as a prerequisite for scalability
-
The importance of robust data governance
-
The role of European standards in the context of the AI Act and Data Act
-
The contribution of ETSI specifications to building a sustainable ecosystem
The message was clear:
Reliable AI requires a solid technical foundation.
Standards are not administrative constraints.
They are strategic enablers that secure, structure, and future-proof intelligent systems.
AI, Data, and Standards: A Structuring Equation for the Future
EGM’s participation in the ETSI AI & Data Conference 2026 reinforces a strategic direction:
Intelligence does not come from models alone.
It depends on the quality, structure, and governance of data.
As AI becomes a major industrial and territorial challenge, aligning technological innovation with European standardization is a decisive factor for long-term success.
By building on open standards such as NGSI-LD, EGM contributes to the development of interoperable, scalable, and future-ready solutions.
