EGM at the Mayors’ Fair in Grasse — October 9, 2025
Meetings, exchanges, and perspectives for connected territories
On Thursday, October 9, 2025, we attended the Fair of Municipalities and Intermunicipalities of the Alpes-Maritimes, held on Place du Cours Honoré-Cresp in Grasse.
This 8th edition, organized by the Association of Mayors and Presidents of Communities of the Alpes-Maritimes (ADM06), remains a key local event bringing together elected officials, public decision-makers, and private actors committed to supporting local authorities.
Why this fair matters
Designed as a space for proximity and dialogue, the fair fosters exchanges around key local challenges: ecological transition, mobility, public service management, economic development, and territorial innovation.
It provides an opportunity for companies and local authorities to identify concrete solutions and establish operational partnerships for local projects.
EGM’s presence: meaningful meetings and insights
Pierre Michel, PhD, and Alexandre Martel represented EGM at the event.
As active visitors, they held numerous discussions with elected representatives and territorial managers to present our solutions and better understand the concrete needs of local authorities in terms of connected and sustainable territories.
Key discussion topics
-
Smart infrastructure management: public lighting, fill-level sensors for waste management, and network supervision.
-
Local data collection: granularity, privacy, and interoperability (open standards).
-
Pilot projects and experimentation support: POC approaches, funding, and scaling up.
A highlight: meeting the City of Grasse
We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Jérôme Viaud, Mayor of Grasse, to whom we extend our sincere thanks for his availability and the time dedicated to this event.
These institutional discussions strengthen local collaboration opportunities and help set up territorial experimentation initiatives.
Key takeaways and next steps
The Grasse Mayors’ Fair confirms the importance of local events in building pragmatic projects — identifying needs, testing solutions, and connecting public and private actors.
For EGM, the next steps are clear:
-
Formalize POC proposals tailored to the feedback received.
-
Prioritize projects based on low-power, interoperable technologies.
-
Strengthen local partnerships to accelerate deployment (public service companies, intercommunalities, local authorities).
