EGM at GIECS 2024: Technological Innovations for Sustainability 🌍
EGM had the honor of presenting its work at the Global IoT and Edge Computing Summit (GIECS) 2024, a landmark event that showcased our two innovative solutions combining technology and sustainability. These projects reflect our commitment to developing smart solutions for a more environmentally-friendly future 🌱.
Monitoring Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB): A Solution for Protecting Aquatic Ecosystems 🌊
To meet the need for monitoring biodiversity and protecting aquaculture sites, EGM has developed an innovative IoT device dedicated to monitoring water quality. By combining spectrofluorometry and plankton imaging, this solution allows for real-time detection of anomalies related to harmful algal blooms, known as Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB). Through the integration of artificial intelligence 🤖, the system sends early alerts to prevent environmental risks. This project directly contributes to the preservation of marine biodiversity 🐠 and the health of our aquatic ecosystems, a crucial issue for the future of our oceans.
Optimizing Carpooling Parking Lots: An Initiative for Sustainable Mobility 🚗💨
The second solution presented by EGM was developed for the Pyrénées-Orientales Departmental Council. Using an Edge-Cloud approach, we implemented a system to track the usage of carpool parking lots. By integrating anonymized data into a FIWARE architecture, we analyze the use of these infrastructures and measure the CO2 emissions avoided through carpooling 🌱. This solution supports sustainable mobility initiatives and actively contributes to reducing the ecological footprint of regions.
A Strong Commitment to a Sustainable Future 🌍
These two projects clearly demonstrate our commitment to leveraging technology to address global environmental challenges. At EGM, we firmly believe that technological innovation is key to successfully achieving the ecological transition 🌿. By putting our solutions to work for sustainability, we are contributing to a future that is more environmentally respectful and resilient in the face of current climate challenges.
