Improved capacity, density, efficiency, latency, reliability than the current 4G, … the 5G technology will open in the next years new horizons in mobile networks and wireless systems. The fifth generation will bring new features fostering changes in industries and IoT implementations such as Subscriber supervision tools, High resolution and bi-directional large bandwidth shaping, providing uniform, uninterrupted, and consistent connectivity across the world. As there is currently no standard for 5G deployments, Easy Global Market investigates this technology and participates in its standardization and development processes.

On April 4th to 5th, Easy Global Market hosted the 2nd plenary meeting of the 5GinFIRE project, H2020 project aiming at build and operate an Open, and Extensible 5G NFV-based Reference (Open5G-NFV) ecosystem of Experimental Facilities. The consortium composed by EU and Brazil partners will develop within the next months an innovative playground with fully softwarised architectures of vertical industries. The initial instantiation of the Open5GNFV ecosystem will be driven by the automotive vertical deployed across state-of-the-art 5G infrastructures, however, it will also be as generic as possible in order to host other verticals.

In the same line, EGM participated on April 6th in Sophia Antipolis with project partners in the ETSI Summit on 5G Network Infrastructure, identifying core basis and requirements for technology standardisation (Challenges, Core infrastructure, NFV management, Network protocols, Security…).
