This paper gives an overview on interoperability challenges and in particular for semantic interoperability adressing manufacturing within the Internet of Things research cluster (IERC). In the IoT area, business and manufacturing aspects have not been clearly taken into account yet but there is an important need to include requirement and challenges from thia area as there are a lot of common issues and addtional values that current experience and deployments in manufacturing can be relevant. More specifically, it is discussed semantic discovery and interoperability issues related to intangible assets and to products-services manufacturing ecosystems.
